See behind-the-scenes in Station Hall and find out how the redevelopment work is coming along.
Since my last post, when we made real inroads into the installation work in Station Hall, we’ve been focusing on getting the finishing touches just right.

Hi Ruth, I’ve had the pleasure of visiting the hall several times since new year and view developments. The Hall is looking most impressive, the new entrance has added a whole new dimension to the displays, the steam effects are well very effective when I saw them earlier this month (still think the smells would add that final touch and could be sold in shop for oil burners) and got some wonderful photo’s as a result. The new displays and “dance mats” are informative and entertaining. The atmosphere with the dressing of the hall is more like a station each visit. I do wonder about the new structure at the Yard end, it does effectively block tracks, giving another obstruction to be removed should it be necessary or desirable to move the railway vehicles around, creating flexibility to the display, prolonging it’s life. Overall I think hearty congratulations to you and your team are in order, well done.
Hi Thomas,
Thanks so much for your comments, I’m so pleased that you like what we’ve done with Station Hall.

Looks terrific. I especially like the touch with the Union Jacks hanging over Gladstone. The combination of the Crab and the Midland Spinner alongside each other also very pleasing on the eye. Looking forward to visiting the NRM and taking it all in, in the flesh.
