For the last two years we’ve been sharing railway related poems on our SoundCloud account that have been submitted by our fans on Facebook and Twitter. In celebration of yesterday’s event we’d like to share two poems that were sent to us by Brian and Stephen.
Our first poem was written by Stephen Hoadley and talks about Medstead and Four Marks Station, the highest operational standard-gauge railway station in Southern England and run by the preserved Watercress Line.

Our second poem was submitted by Brian Shipman and talks about the golden age of steam locomotives.

If you have any railway related poems to share we’d still love to see them. Just send your words through to pressoffice@nrm.org.uk or post them to our Facebook wall.
