To mark the extension of the People, Pride and Progress display at the National Railway Museum, we are looking back to June, when the museum joined the celebrations at York Pride.

PhD researcher Tilly Guthrie highlights that this year marks not only 200 years of the railways, but also of the invention of Braille.

Although the NRM is celebrating its 50th anniversary this year, its story actually goes back much further than 1975. In this blog post Dr. Oli Betts, Research Lead, and John Clarke, Assistant Curator, share stories from the museum’s past.

We shine the spotlight on some of the long-standing members of our volunteer community who have played an invaluable part in the museum’s history.

On Saturday 1 June, colleagues at the National Railway Museum came together to take part in York Pride, in celebration and support of our LGBTQIA+ colleagues and community.
